WIDA, housed at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research, advances academic language development and academic achievement for children and youth who are culturally and linguistically diverse through high quality standards, assessments, research, and professional learning for educators. Current UW Madison Student Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of students with disabilities or multilingual learners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage workload and work independently to meet deadlines and expectations.
- Experience with data entry or completing transcription for research studies.
Preferred:
- Summer full time availabilityPosition Summary/Job Duties:
Fully remote work is allowed for this role with a Remote Work Agreement. We are looking for a student who can work up to 20 hours per week this summer and will give priority to applicants who can do this.
- Create and format documents for internal and external uses
- Transcribe data for analysis
- Assist with developing materials for meetings, including contributing to the development of accessible materials and conducting accessibility reviews
- Photocopy and scan documents
- Compile and organize feedback and data for review
- Assist with recruiting efforts for meetings and research projects
- Take notes for meetings Create and format documents for internal and external uses
This position will work with researchers and assessment content specialists who specialize in the area of multilingual learners with disabilities. They will assist with research and development projects related to WIDA's suite of inclusive assessments, including Alternate ACCESS for ELLs and ACCESS for ELLs Braille, as well as other accessibility and accommodations resources.Physical Demands:
