      Position Purpose:

      Wildlife Expeditions Guides lead educational single-day and multi-day tours in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park for visitors from around the world. Guides also assist in maintaining operational systems at Wildlife Expeditions through support work at the warehouse, in the office, and in the field.

      Qualifications:
      Able to effectively communicate the missions of Teton Science Schools and the National Park Service to guests
      Able to manage risk and make leadership decisions in front-country and backcountry settings
      Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
      Previous guiding experience or teaching experience in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is preferred
      Familiarity with Google Apps and Microsoft Office products

      Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
      Expected to work very early mornings, very late evenings, weekends, all holidays, multiple long days in a row, and double shifts that can all equate to a total beyond 40 hours per week
      Expected to follow all National Park and Teton Science Schools rules and regulations
      Primarily vehicle-based work in Jackson, Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park
      Ability to participate in multi-day travel
      Able to drive 11 passenger vans for extended periods (up to 10+ hours per day) for multiple days in a row
      Stretches of time outdoors in all weather, including extreme temperatures and arid conditions
      Able to bend/stoop/reach and lift up to 50 pounds
      Have normal range of vision/hearing/speech
      Work is primarily independent though you are part of a larger team of guides
      100% Responsibilities:









      Guiding

      Lead half day (4 hour), full day (8 hour), full day (12+ hours), custom, & multi day vehicle-based wildlife tours in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park

      Educate guests about the flora, fauna, geology, cultural history, natural history, and current events of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem during every tour

      Engage all guests in hands-on, experiential, place-based activities during tours by using animal specimens, binoculars, spotting scopes and other teaching tools

      Provide exceptional customer service on every expedition

      Practice conservative decision-making and exercise sound judgment in order to maintain the safety of self and all guests during every expedition

      Supporting Wildlife Expeditions & other program areas of Teton Science Schools

      Clean and organize the Wildlife Expeditions warehouse and shared resources (i.e. optics, teaching tools)

      Uphold the team's shared expectation of thoroughly cleaning the exterior and interior of vehicles after every tour

      Code all receipts from purchases made during tours in a timely manner

      Provide luggage shuttle support, vehicle shuttle support, meal support, and scouting support on multi day tours

      Participate in all Wildlife Expeditions training and periodic staff meetings

      Upload photos taken during tours to be used for marketing Wildlife Expeditions & Teton Science Schools

      Distribute business cards and promote Wildlife Expeditions TripAdvisor to guests on every tour

      Support educational programming through the Field Education department as needed, including working with youth groups






      One TSS Responsibilities

      Proactively and positively shares the TSS mission and program structure with external stakeholders

      Cross markets TSS programs when opportunities arise.

      Engage and collaborate across TSS program areas when possible

      Further development of practice and implementation of place-based education pedagogies

      Embody and exemplify all Teton Science Schools values during programming

      Deliver and solicit feedback to/from yourself, peers, and participants
