      TITLE: Willenborg Civic Action Intern: Graphic Design for the Public Good
      Description of the Position
      The Graphic Design for the Public Good Willenborg Internship offers graduating Dominican University Graphic Design Seniors the opportunity to apply their skills and principles instilled during their academic journey to real-world projects. Through a lens of service, interns will collaborate with community partners to provide compassionate design services for deserving organizations, small businesses, or non-profits. This internship aims to equip interns with practical experience while making a positive impact on the community.
      Responsibilities include the following tasks:
      • Apply technical graphic design skills to create innovative and impactful design solutions for assigned projects.
      • Collaborate with community partners to understand their needs and vision for the project.
      • Participate in brainstorming sessions and concept development meetings.
      • Incorporate client feedback into design revisions to ensure alignment with project objectives.
      • Produce high-quality deliverables including but not limited to campaigns, re-branding materials, and marketing collateral.
      • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and community partners throughout the project lifecycle.
      • Maintain project timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion of tasks.
      • Embrace the principles of being of service and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all interactions.
      Requirements
      • Complete 140 hours of client work, exact schedule TBD by site manager(s)
      Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
      • Graduating senior pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or related field from Dominican University.
      • Along with needs a Professional Design "Creative Project" Contract template for working with freelance clientele
      • Proficient to certified in Adobe Creative Suite programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and other relevant design software.
      • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
      • Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
      • Prior experience with client-based projects or internships is preferred but not required.
      • Passion for making a positive impact in the community through design.
