Wills and Estates Legal Assistant (Full-time)
The Wills and Estates Legal Assistant is responsible for the file work pertaining to the Wills and Estates Department. This role includes administration of will files by drafting, gathering pertinent information from clients, document and file management, and preparing documentation.
The successful applicant will hold a Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate or diploma and have 2 to 3 years’ experience in Wills and Estates. This position will be working with clients to gather information and assist with client meetings, and act as a liaison with various external bodies including beneficiaries, financial institutions, the Public Guardian, and Trustee’s office. Further duties include conducting searches, such as corporate, land title and personal property registry and handle administrative detail with respect to maintaining contracts, e-filing, and client lists. The ability to manage a variety of incoming requests and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines is required.
