Job Description
- Req#: R-29747
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, agricultural engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or other related field of engineering or laboratory science.
- Sophomore or junior (preferred) standing in college
- Required GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Adhere to strict safety standards when handling crop protection products and other chemicals and properly wear personal protective equipment while working in the laboratory.
- Familiarity with 3-D CAD and rapid prototyping
- Prior laboratory experience conducting experiments and organizing data is a plus
- Prior experience designing and fabricating fixturing and simple mechanical systems
- Prior experience programming for sensory integration and control loops
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Manage time and effectively prioritize and implement projects and general work tasks.
- Give and receive feedback, work collaboratively, exhibit effective social and interpersonal skills.
- Resourceful and innovative in finding solutions to problems.
- Flexible and can adapt to changing business surroundings.

We have a Wind Tunnel Intern position opening for Summer 2024 in River Falls, WI at the WinField United Innovation Center. Relocation assistance provided. The wind tunnel laboratory is focused on studying the physics of agricultural sprays in our two state of the art wind tunnels. We do this primarily through measurement methods such as laser diffraction, high speed shadowgraphy and physical sampling. Our first area of interest is understanding the atomization processes and the influence of factors such as nozzle geometry, fluid properties, and external flows on the spray droplet size distribution. The second main area of interest is droplet transportation with trajectory and deposition measurement and modeling.
