      Wire Harness Engineer

      Job Purpose:

      We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire Harness Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing wire harness systems for [specific applications, e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment]. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

      Nature of Duties:

      • Create detailed wire harness designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications
      • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to product prototypes and conduct initial testing to validate design functionality
      • Perform thorough testing of wire harnesses, including electrical tests, environmental tests, and durability assessments to ensure reliability and performance
      • Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, modifications, testing procedures, and results to support compliance and future reference
      • Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and production teams to ensure seamless integration of wire harnesses into larger systems
      • Identify and resolve issues related to wire harness related to wire harness design and production, and implement corrective actions as necessary
      • Stay updated on relevant industry standards and regulations, ensuring that all designs and processes comply with safety and performance requirements

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field
      • 3+ years of experience in wire harness design and engineering, preferably in [specific industry, e.g. automotive, aerospace]
      • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical design tools
      • Familiarity with wiring standards (e.g.IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE standards)
      • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
      • Excellent written and verbal skills
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with automotive electrical systems and components
      • Knowledge of materials used in wire harness production, including insulation and connectors
      • Project management experience and familiarity with Agile methodologies
