What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Obtain pre-certification/authorization for outpatient diagnostic procedures and referrals in a timely manner
- Review and analyze medical record documentation to ensure proper authorization processes
- Act as a liaison between specialists, primary care physicians, and insurance carriers to resolve authorization issues
- Maintain accurate data entry for pre-authorization numbers in the system
- Assist with monthly reports and support departmental staffing needs as required
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service and/or healthcare setting
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established productivity benchmarks
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1 year of computer/data entry experience or experience in insurance/benefits
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Working knowledge of patient registration systems
