- Accurately transcribe, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Ensure that all documents adhere to firm-specific templates, formatting standards, and legal requirements
- Convert scanned documents into editable formats
- Manage document revisions and track changes as necessary
- Communicate effectively with attorneys and support staff to ensure timely document delivery
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive legal information
- Provide support with document preparation and other administrative tasks as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or certification in legal studies is a plus)
- Proven experience working as a word processor, legal assistant, or similar role (experience in a law firm is preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong typing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal terminology, document formatting, and citation styles
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Must be able to work the night shift (hours from 4:30pm – 12am)
We are seeking a Word Processor (night shift) to join a growing national firm in their downtown Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently transcribing, formatting, and editing legal documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm guidelines. This position requires a strong attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
