This position supervises a crew of criminal justice clients who are performing work outside the jail. Maintains surveillance of crew members to ensure the security of the crew and community protection.

1. Perform jobs assigned by the Offender Services Manager. Sign-in all out-of-custody work crew participants daily between 7:30-7:45 a.m. Pick up, drive and supervise work crew members to and from work sites.
2. Conduct pat downs of all work crew members every day before re-entering the jail. Conduct random cell, van and work area searches.
3. Supervise and monitor work crews at all times while under his/her custody and at work sites. Maintain attendance records and all other records assigned, including incident logs and reports.
4. Obtain lunches from the Jail kitchen daily for each in-custody work crew member.
5. Ensure that work crew members do not gain access to contraband material.
6. Perform random UA/PBT testing on crew members and report results to supervisor.
7. Report and document performance, conduct and cooperative attitude of the work crew members to Offender Services Manager. Contact Offender Services Department if a work crew member refuses to abide by rules or in the event of illness or injury, incident of mis-conduct or escape, or transportation problems.
8. Meet and report to the Offender Services Manager of all equipment and other or resources needs, repairs, or maintenance. Provide regular status reports on activities.
9. Collaborate or coordinate efforts with other Offender Services staff to improve services and operations, ensure proper services and time lines.
10. Perform general clerical duties to maintain records, prepare correspondence, make contacts, prepare regular reports,
11. Attend staff meetings. Contribute recommendations for improvement of operations and services.
12. Attend required training and conferences.

Other Duties:

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Be a U.S. citizen and be at least 21 years old.
3. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
4. Successfully pass a full background investigation, polygraph test and psychological profile interview.
5. Successfully complete First Aid and CPR training within the first six months of employment.
