Responsibilities:
Market and Event Management
- Achieve revenue goals by conducting strategy calls with customers and educating them on solutions to match their needs.
- Develop expertise in our products, merchandising, and services to consult customers on successful events.
- Retain current customers and secure additional events through prospecting and stimulating interest in book fairs.
- Solidify customer commitment to ensure scheduled business is secure.
- Address potential loss of accounts or events in a timely manner.
Time and Territory Planning
- Use technology to support service and sales processes, including maintaining accurate documentation in Salesforce.
- Execute tasks, recognize opportunities, and adjust priorities to meet goals.
- Organize workflow to maximize efficient use of communication technology.
Customer Focus
- Develop and expand customer relationships by understanding and meeting their needs.
- Provide value and ensure exceptional customer experience.
- Listen patiently and carefully to customers, demonstrating genuine interest in their circumstances.
- Address customer service concerns promptly.
Teamwork
- Attend and participate in meetings with the territory team to develop and execute goals and plans.
- Share calendar and communicate activities effectively.
- Follow processes for optimizing account revenue and fair count results.
- Promote collaboration between operations and sales.
Functional Expertise/Personal Effectiveness
- Support our mission and demonstrate our values of caring and respect.
- Stay updated on sales processes and expectations.
- Adapt well to shifting priorities and rapid change.
- Attend company events as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of proven successful sales experience in telephone sales, personal selling, and customer service.
- Proficiency with MS Office software, Salesforce/CRM technology, and telecommuting software.
- Ability to build and grow revenue while adding value for customers.
- Familiarity with children's literature, Book Fairs, and school activities is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs, push/pull up to 300lbs.
- Adherence to all local, state, and federal laws.
