      The EDI role is a dynamic role where the EDI specialist will be supporting the department by submitting claims to the State in a timely manner. The EDI associate is responsible for entering our FROI and SROI reports into the EBIX system in a timely and accurate manner while meeting production volume expectations. This position is a remote work opportunity, for Virginia residents only, schedule M-F 8am-5pm EST.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Create and submit EDI First Report of Injury and Subsequent Reports (Using our vendor Ebix’s web based portal WCIRS)
      • Research Workers Compensation Claims in applicable claim system for information needed to complete EDI reports. This would include reviewing the claim and determining what information needs to be reported based on the State requirements.
      • Review state websites for filing information, potential penalties or fines. Analyze any EDI errors and make necessary corrections as stipulated by the state requirements.
      • Compiles all data using state EDI reporting requirements and time frames. This will involve an understanding of the EDI Tables and implementation guides at state level.
      • Remain current on EDI rules and requirements, as well as IAIABC release updates.
      • Communicate with claims adjusting staff or other necessary internal staff (Acct Mgr.) regarding missing necessary EDI filing data
      • Responsible for ensuring submissions are accepted.
      • Utilize all resources, Caremc, SharePoint, State Workers Comp Site, EBIX, and independent research to resolve rejected reports.
      • Responsible for meeting production standards or expectations daily.
      • Maintain HIPAA/Privacy compliance in all aspects of communications.
      • May provide assistance in training of new employees.
      • Provides general support
      • Punctual and consistent attendance is required in this position
      • Additional duties as assigned.

      KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, mainly Outlook, Excel, WORD
      • Ability to do critical thinking, analyzing data and is detailed oriented
      • Daily Prioritization and balancing fluctuating workloads
      • Ability to read and comprehend excel worksheets along with strong math skills
      • Paperless entry with 2 monitors with ability of multitasking between numerous applications
      • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work independently
      • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
      • The ability to work in a fast paced/production environment

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Data Entry experience

      PAY RANGE:

      CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

      For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

      Pay Range: $13.08 - $19.90 per hour
