      About Phipps Neighborhoods:

      Phipps Neighborhoods is a multi-service nonprofit, established in 1972, providing a comprehensive network of educational, work-readiness and community development programs to more than 12,000 children, teens and adults each year in targeted communities across the Bronx and Manhattan. These programs include: Head Start and Early Head Start, after-school, summer camp, literacy and ESOL, pre- HSE, college prep, work readiness, resident support, and adult/family programs.

      Position Summary

      The Job Developer offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, organized and flexible professional to utilize their business development expertise in order to strengthen current employer partnerships and foster new employer relationships.

      This person will report to and work closely with the Program Director to increase and diversify placement opportunities for workforce development programs serving youth ages 16-24 within the Workforce Development department. The Job Developer will support the strategic program plan for mapping, researching, prospecting and securing sector-based prospects and lead all relevant partner engagement.

      They must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, continually evolving environment and thrive in a collaborative and team-oriented workplace. They must possess a strong passion for the fight to rise above poverty and the motivation to enact real change in an innovative and dynamic organization.

      Salary range for this role will be $60,000 to $65,000 based on education, training and experience

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Research and identify prospective employers in targeted sector, pursue leads, negotiate agreement terms and develop contracts (MOU’s).
      • Design and create recruitment strategies, job fairs, on site employer visits, "meet the manager days", and cyber info sessions for internet job search companies that operate and screen through automated methods.
      • Understand the target market, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients.
      • Possess a strong understanding of program content, our competition in the industry and be able to communicate our positioning effectively, specifically around workforce programming.
      • Use strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders related to the growth and success of the program.
      • Convene and facilitate regular meetings and site visits with partners to assess progress, identify challenges and determine solutions to address them productively.

      Qualifications:

      • Minimum 3 years’ experience developing worksites, providing career coaching and counseling, and working in the field of youth workforce development.
      • A previous knowledge of sector-based work strongly preferred.
      • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, counseling, public policy or related fields required.
      • Experience with capturing, logging and interpreting data is required. Excellent analytical thinking, judgment and decision-making skills.
      • Have proven ability to prioritize and execute deliverables efficiently and timely with minimum supervision.
      • Ability to travel throughout New York City
