      Summary of Position

      The Next Gen Worship Associate Pastor is responsible for overseeing all Kids, Students, and Young Adults (NextGen) worship ministry activities to facilitate core, care, and community at the campus level. This position reports to the Campus Worship Pastor and oversees the NextGen worship teams and the Kids Team Lead. The Next Gen Worship Associate Pastor leads the congregation toward intimacy with God by developing highly skilled, anointed, Spirit-filled worship teams for all weekly and weekend NextGen worship experiences.

      Principle Responsibilities

      CAMPUS WORSHIP SERVICES

      • Scheduled 3-4 times per month as Worship Leader or Pastoral Oversight for Students services.
      • Scheduled once per month as Worship Leader or Pastoral Oversight for Young Adults services.
      • Scheduled 2-3 weekends per month worship rotation for adult services. (Off one weekend/month.) Every time on adult rotation, check in on Kids rooms outside of rehearsal and service times.
      • Scheduled one weekend per month to provide dedicated pastoral oversight in Kids services for intentional leadership and craft development with kids’ team members.
      • Oversees Kids Coaching and facilitates Students and Young Adults Coaching for further leadership and craft development.

      CAMPUS WORSHIP ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Regular oversights with Campus Worship Pastor for vision and tasks as it pertains to Kids, Students, and Young Adults Worship at the campus level.
      • Regular oversights with Campus Kids Team Lead for vision and tasks as it pertains to Kids Worship.
      • Oversees song lists for Kids, Students, and Young Adults.
      • Work with Worship Coordinator to oversee monthly scheduling of teams for Kids, Students, and Young Adults (if no Coordinator, this is the Associate Campus Worship Pastor's responsibility).
      • Lead the team in spiritual development.
      • Build relationships with teams and keep a pulse on team members to connect with them for pastoral care, if needed.
      • Regular touchpoints with Campus Kids, Students, and Young Adults Pastors for service planning.
      • Serve as Pastor on Call as needed by your Campus.
      • Other miscellaneous Campus needs as discussed with Oversight, such as Primary Worship Leader for weekend services, worship leader for funerals or staff meetings, pastoral counseling, outreach events, meetings, etc.

      CAMPUS/CENTRAL COLLABORATION

      • Regular touchpoints with Central Associate Worship Pastor for NextGen as it pertains to content, consistency, and communication, and overall ministry vision.
      • Regular attendance for Kids, Students, and Young Adults Central/Campus meetings.
      • Be present and provide oversight for Kids Summer Week, Student Camp, Student Conference, and Young Adults retreats.
      • Attendance, and participation as needed, for all Gateway Church conferences and Major Ministry Events (First Conference, Student Camp, Pink Impact, Men’s Summit, Student Conference, Kids Summer Week, Presbytery, Young Adults Retreat, Gateway Conference)
      • Serve on New Song Review Team

      • Physical Capabilities
        • The physical demands described here are the representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to:
          • Sit/stand for extended periods of time.
          • Occasionally kneel, or crouch.
          • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

      • Professional and pastoral leadership given to worship ministries of Gateway Church.
      • Excel in building, raising up, and releasing worshippers who are strong in character and leadership.
      • Worship leadership provided in multiple services.
      • Conduct Musical rehearsals in a professional and pastoral manner.
      • Implement operations, procedures, and protocol of the vision for worship ministries as set by Executive Pastor of Worship
      • Job performance indicators as listed in Pastoral and Management Evaluation
