Department Overview:
This internship is offered in partnership with SuccessWorks in the College of Letters and Science through the Community Impact Internship Program.
WORT is a non-commercial, listener-sponsored, member-controlled community radio station broadcasting to South-Central Wisconsin and maintaining an active Internet presence. WORT programming shall respect all peoples and their environments, and shall serve a broad spectrum of the community by:Anticipated Start Date:

Eligibility Requirements
● Undergraduate enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison during the same semester as the internship
L&S Students are eligible to receive a $500 stipend from SuccessWorks.
L&S students who are eligible for work study funding can complete additional requirements, detailed in the "Job Duties" section to receive $12/hour in lieu of a stipend. Work study eligibility is preferred, but not required.
**To receive a stipend or work study funding, students must be enrolled in the College of Letters and Science.**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Skills/Abilities
● Ability to use or learn database, spreadsheet, website editing and word processing programs
● Ability to edit or learn to edit audio files, create web posts, share on social media
● Strong command of English language and grammar or the ability to research and correct mistakes
● Great attention to detail and a desire to perform accurate, quality work
● Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a busy work environmentPosition Summary/Job Duties:
Internship job duties
● Assist in managing incoming physical and digital music submissions
● Curate on-air guest appearances and interviews to post online after programming airs
● Work with the Music Director to organize and manage online and social media posts
● Discuss and create music stories, outreach and social media ideas with the Music Director
● Seek out WORT-relevant music news from local to global sources
● Identify and help create print materials to use for outreach opportunities
● Create and/or assist with social media campaigns including live streams/posts during events
● Work cooperatively with the Music and Digital Production Directors and other WORT staffWork Study interns must complete the following additional requirements:
One 30-minute career advising appointment with a SuccessWorks Career Advisor
Participation in one SuccessWorks Careers Event (remote or in-person)
