      Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.       What you'll be doing
      The CNC provides clinical Leadership, supervision and mentoring for the Mental Health Emergency Department clinicians to ensure the service provides high quality, timely consultation and advice, assessment and support of MH consumers presenting to the Emergency Department.
      The CNC is responsible for leading and modelling the delivery of complex specialist mental health emergency nursing care and the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery to provide effective quality care for consumers presenting to the Emergency Department under the domains of Clinical Service and Consultacy, Clinical Leadership, Research, Education and Clinical Service Planning. The CNC2 will develop capacity for the safe and effective management of consumers presenting to the Emergency Department with mental distress.

      Essential Requirements:

      1. Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
      2. Licence: Current NSW Driver' s Licence

      Selection Criteria:

      1. Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1, with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with a minimum of three years full-time experience in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have approved post graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD or working towards same.
      2. Demonstrated ability to provide an expert client-centred consultancy practice participating in direct patient care provisions.
      3. Act as an exemplary role model by living the organisations values; while providing effective leadership through direction, coaching and demonstrating expert knowledge, complex decision-making skills, and clinical competencies to practice at an advanced or expanded level.
      4. Contribute to the development and management of clinical processes such as policies and procedures with demonstrated ability to access, read and interpret research findings in current literature.
      5. Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with all levels of staff within a multidisciplinary team.
      6. Demonstrates high level capabilities in critical thinking and problem solving, with higher order conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
      7. Demonstrates ability to provide education on complex clinical issues to clinicians, patients and carers, with demonstrated participation in formal and informal education programs with ability to identify educational needs for the organisation.
