      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

      • Responsible to review patient orders image requests, and patient questions.
      • Perform image procedures while upholding IHS patient service quality standards.
      • Obtain patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, or by communicating with referring clinicians.
      • Review or transmit images and information using picture archiving or communications systems.
      • Evaluate medical information to determine patients' risk factors, such as allergies to contrast agents, or to make decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.
      • Confer with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.
      • Establish or enforce standards for protection of patients or personnel.
      • Monitor procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images. Interpret images using computer-aided detection or diagnosis systems.
      • Will act as backup for other IHS departments as required.
      • Daily prepare and respond to correspondence for unread exams, QA Notes and inquiry statuses.
      • Will be required to report any non-operable equipment and maintenance needs of imaging equipment to your supervisor

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      - Is able to complete MQSA and ACR inspections (Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) (American College of Radiology - ACR)

      - Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Mammography technology program.

      - Completion of an ARRT advanced modality specialty examination in Q.A., Mammography

      - Current California licensure for Mammography (CRT-M)

      - BLS certification

      - CPR card

      - General knowledge of information technology (PACS / RIS). PACS (picture archiving and communication system) is a medical imaging technology used primarily in healthcare. (RIS) is a networked software system for managing medical imagery and associated data

      Worksite Location and Shift Information:

      • Will float between various locations across San Diego (however, they will try to keep you as close to home as possible)
      • Worksites are open Monday-Sunday and shift hours are 7:00am-4:00pm, 8:00am-5:00pm, or 10:30am-7:00pm

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent and associate’s degree in radiologic sciences; preferred bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences
      • Current ARRT, CPR, CRT license
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office and proficiency with MERGE and PACS systems is a plus.

      The pay range for this position is $97760.00 - $114400.00/yr.
