      Job Description

      The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas. All driving is expected to be completed safely in accordance with all Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Responsible for charging , requires attention to safety and cautious driving in the facility drop lot. The Yard Driver communicates and interacts with internal and external customers professionally, ensuring all services and duties are executed in accordance with preferred work methods and customer service practices. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required , and performs safely any duty assigned to best serve the company.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Perform all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required .

      • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report all safety hazards.

      • Report all accidents, including any damage to facility, equipment, or trailers on the lot.

      • Report any damages found on the equipment inspection check list caused by previous shift driver

      • Safely move trailers to/from loading docks and to/from designated parking area.

      • Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and always secured.

      • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and clean as required .

      • At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.

      • Performs other related duties as assigned

      • Role model leadership, inclusion, and 5E’s (Envision, Engage, Energize, Execute, and Enable)

      • Flow to TCC as needed.

      Job Qualifications

      • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.

      • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and is in touch with the department members.

      • Demonstrates the ability to build cooperation throughout the organization.

      • Basic computer skills and application experience (WMS) .

      • High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.

      • Valid CDL Class A license.

      • 2 years yard experience.

      • Must be 21 years of age.

      • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.

      • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check .

      • Pass on-site P&G road test.

      • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.

      Starting Pay/ Salary Range

      $31.57 / hour

      ROLE REQUIR E MENTS:

      • Cross train on TCCs functions and flow to the work as needed

      • Complete safety BOSs and provide/receive feedback respectfully

      • Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.

      • rotating 2-3-2, nights 6pm-6am 12 hours shift, overtime as necessary.

      SUCCESS MEASURES:

      • Ability to accomplish 53 moves average per shift.

      • 0 missed CIL inspection completion .
