Job Description

- Knowledgeable of all Farm Bureau programs on the county, district, state and national levels.
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating YF&R conferences, seminars, trainings and other meetings sponsored by the Field Services Department on the district and state level.
- Develop and Implement a Program of Work for the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee. Work with the committee in determining activities that will be supported by the officers and directors of Georgia Farm Bureau.
- Develop and manage a Young Farmer and Rancher budget based upon the Young Farmer and Rancher Program of Work.
- Serve as a resource person for county volunteer leaders in the development and coordination of programs relative to Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers.
- Serve as advisor to the State Young Farmer and Ranchers Committee. Coordinate committee planning meetings, offer specific directives to design a feasible plan of work, and offer expertise in preparing and implementing Program Budgets.
- Prepare and implement goals, objectives, and budgets for the Young Farmer and Rancher Program.
- Advise Young Farmer and Rancher Chair in their role as a State Board Member.
- Manage and facilitate Young Farmer and Rancher competitive events and award programs.
- Maintain correspondence and communication with AFBF regarding Young Farmer and Ranchers Programs.
- Prepare for presentations to the State Board, monthly reports of county, district, and state activities as relative to the Young Farmer and Rancher Programs.
- Provide updates on the Young Farmer and Rancher program to the staff of the Field Services Department
- Coordinate and facilitate Georgia Farm Bureau activities and presence at the Sunbelt Ag Expo and Georgia FFA Convention.
- Develop and assist collegiate Young Farmer and Rancher chapters.
- Develop programs for Field Services as identified by the Field Services Department.
- Provide leadership development program material for use on the county, district and state level.
- Develop and implement leadership materials and facilitate training for county Farm Bureau staff at the county, district, and state level.
- Assist county volunteers in establishing viable functioning committees.
- Develop and coordinate training materials with the District Federation Managers for county Farm Bureau office staff.
- Coordinate and facilitate District Meetings and Statewide Conferences for the development of county Farm Bureau office staff.
- Recruit and motivate members to participate in programs.
- Maintain staff training requirements as determined by the Director of Field Services.
- Assist Women’s Leadership Programs Coordinator as needed.
- Other items as requested by the Director of Field Services.
- Bachelors Degree required; knowledge of agriculture and ag related fields preferred
- The ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously and to work well with others inside and outside of Farm Bureau.
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to be in GFB Home Office daily or as needed.
- Basic technology skills including Microsoft Office & Outlook
- 3-5 years of experience in Agriculture or Leadership Development required.
- Event planning experience required.
- Frequent overnight, in state and out of state travel required.
- Must have a GA Driver’s license
- Lift 25 pounds occasionally
- Carry 25 pounds occasionally
