YOUTH SERVICES COORDINATOR
Job Code: 75330 Salary Grade: 16, Salary Range $50,325 -$65,675 - $81,024 FLSA: Exempt
Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to coordinate County-Wide youth programs, projects and services as assigned, including development, implementation and project monitoring. This is the entry-level classification.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Coordinates programming phase of County-wide youth programs, projects and services; identifies user needs and requirements by soliciting input and feedback from youth, parents and service providers; develops goals and objectives, cost projections, project specifications, budget and schedules; researches funding alternatives; maintains related documentation.
Develops partnerships with local businesses and civic organizations; identifies and solicits potential sponsors; attends meetings; answers questions and provides information; maintains related documentation.
Coordinates implementation of programs, projects and services; attends meetings; creates marketing and other program materials; works with consultants, contractors, vendors, service providers and others to resolve problems; schedules programs and events; processes participant registrations; evaluates effectiveness of programs and participation; monitors programs, projects and services in progress; troubleshoots questions and problems during event; makes recommendations for resolutions; maintains related documentation.
Coordinates administrative aspects of programs, projects and services; monitors budget and expenditures; updates project schedules; monitors progress of project and reviews project progress reports; coordinates acquisition of equipment, supplies and other details; evaluates and monitors progress against performance and quality measurements.
Serves as the project liaison to the public, County departments/officials, other government agencies, and other stakeholders; solicits input and feedback; coordinates public relations and education activities; responds to inquiries; prepares and makes presentationsPerforms related administrative duties; receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints regarding youth programs, projects and special events; attends meetings; answers the telephone; prepares reports and correspondence; creates and publishes newsletters and website content; copies and files documents; enters computer data, etc.
Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, or other documents; receives various forms, reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, manuals, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Communicates with supervisor, other County departments and employees, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Communication, Education or related field required; three years of experience in program development, project/event management or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
