- Work with schools and community agencies to build awareness of mental health concerns, contributions, and early signs of illness
- Provide a positive youth development model of care which will employ brief interventions such as: talking therapies (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
- Reliable, Honest and willing to learn
- Youth coaching and mentoring
- Kaupapa Māori cultural interventions including a focus on positive cultural identity, kapa haka, waiata, whakapapa and Whānau Ora
- Hold a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be studying towards a recognised equivalent.
- Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
- A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
