Job Description
abrdn is one of the world’s largest investment companies, and we are built on a long- standing culture of caring about the future and making a positive impact. Together we invest for a better future. We do it to make a difference to the lives of our clients and customers, our employees, society and our shareholders.
Our strategy is to build a vibrant and value-creating purpose-led organization, with the current and future needs of our stakeholders at the heart of all we do.
Overview of the Role:
The abrdn Future Talent Program is a 4-day program designed to provide participants with education, experience, and an introduction to the investment management industry. Investing in a diverse and inclusive workforce is critical at abrdn. This program will provide exposure to our culture, our people, and the different career paths possible, from investments, distribution, marketing, ETFs, operations and more. The dates of the program are May 20 - 23, 2024 and it will be held in person in our Philadelphia office. Participants will be provided a stipend upon completion of the program.
Eligible candidates include those from groups historically underrepresented in the investment management industry, as well as individuals who have encountered challenges that have limited their educational or professional opportunities due to factors such as discrimination, socio-economic status, or sparse access to academic resources. While we are targeting students in their freshman and sophomore years, we will also consider students in their junior and senior years.
Over the course of 4 days, participants will experience a deep dive into the investment industry, an overview of what it’s like to work at abrdn, and a variety of networking opportunities with colleagues and senior leaders. Participants will also take part in personal development workshops, such as interview preparation, resume review, case study prep and more.
Successful completion of the abrdn Future Talent Program may allow participants to apply for our summer internship opportunity, depending upon class year. Alternatively, we may have entry-level opportunities available for participants to pursue.
