Job Description

Assist in the identification, classification, mitigation, and reporting of security vulnerabilities.
Participate in the development and implementation of vulnerability management standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure vulnerabilities are properly tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using a variety of tools and techniques.
Support the risk assessment process by identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities to Moderna's information systems and data.
Participate in incident response activities as needed, including investigations and remediation efforts.
Help in the creation of security awareness training materials and contribute to other security projects as required.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, privacy regulations, and industry best practices.
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, IT systems, and networks.
Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools and platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing and able to relocate to Cambridge, MA for the co-op
Indefinite right to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Prior experience or coursework in vulnerability management, risk assessment, or related areas.
Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and threats, as well as mitigation strategies.
Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
Certifications like CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are a plus.

The Role
Moderna is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Security Co-op to join our Vulnerability Management team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.
Our program starts on Jan 16, 2024, and ends on Jun 14, 2024. All applicants must be available to work full-time during this time range and must be willing to relocate to Cambridge, MA for the duration of the co-op.
