      The Intern gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand the organization. Over the 10-week summer internship program, this job participates in a robust training and onboarding program followed by an ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities. This job may have the opportunity to work in the follow business areas: Technology, Asset Management, Financial Analysis/Accounting, Audit, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources and Advice and Client Relationships.

      Key Responsibilities and Duties
      • Performs clerical duties such as taking memos, organizing documents, maintaining files, photocopying, faxing, etc. as needed
      • Assists in preparing information and research materials, including Powerpoint presentations.
      • Takes notes during meetings and provides to team members.
      • Researches and gathers documentation as directed by colleagues.
      • Attends company functions, including trainings programs, speaker series, lunch-and-learns and social networking events that provide opportunities for career growth and personal development.
      • Shadows multiple office jobs and trains in a variety of tasks.
      • Gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry

      20 24 Early Talent Internship: Digital & Client Experience

      The 10-week summer internship program is designed to challenge students by providing opportunities for hand-on experiences, skills training, and valuable professional networking to assist students with identifying and building on their career interests. This role gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand the TIAA and Nuveen’s businesses.

      The program includes an onboarding program followed by our ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and engagement activities, as well as direct access to executive and senior leadership, mentors and previous interns.

      The Digital & Client Experience (D&CX) team is a diverse area within TIAA that solves real business problems. D&CX’s purpose and objective is to delight clients by transforming TIAA’s culture and practices around client centricity, creating confidence and simplicity in our end-to-end experiences.

      D&CX interns will have an opportunity to join one of the following teams:

      • Design: focusing on end-to-end client experience design that unlocks innovation and delights our clients.

      • Product Management: focusing on the end-to-end client experience, understanding the biggest problems to solve, and defining experiments, solutions, and requirements to deliver improved experiences in partnership with design and engineering.

      • Advice Strategy & Offerings : focusing on advice offerings, including financial wellness, product strategy and governance.

      • CX Strategy & Transformation – Focusing on building a cross-enterprise client-obsessed culture enabling client-centric behaviors by leveraging voice of customer, experimentation, closing the loop with our clients, and facilitation of cross functional practices to ‘connect the dots’ for all associates to work as “One TIAA ”.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

      Summer Associates will work on an exciting mix of strategically-aligned challenging assignments and projects that help drive the achievement of the organization's strategy and mission. Managers and colleagues will work side by side with summer interns to ensure development and learning. Candidates can expect to gain an understanding of TIAA and the Financial Services industry and will be involved in creating resolutions for complex problems and/or transactions where business expertise is required.

      Required Skills:

      • Full-time student, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree .

      • Graduation date between August 2024 – May 2025

      Preferred Skills:

      • Overall GPA of 3.0 or better

      • Interest in the fields of design, technology, client experience, customer research, product strategy / management, data analytics / enablement, reporting and business intelligence solutions.

      • Passion for client experience and client insights.

      • Experimentation and innovation mindset with a bias for action.

      • Desire to continuously learn.

      • Strong problem-solving/analytical skills/critical thinking.

      • Ability to analyze data to identify trends.

      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to deliver on commitments.

      • Willingness to embrace change and collaborate to foster team success.

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook).

      Base Pay Range: $18.75/hr. - $27.40/hr.

      Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
