      We are searching for a diverse range of enthusiastic and talented people to begin their trade career as part of the Thiess 2025 Apprenticeship Program. By completing an apprenticeship at one of the Thiess mines in Queensland or New South Wales, you will join the Future Talent of Thiess.

      Thiess is offering a 4-year structured program where we pride ourselves on producing some of the best tradespersons in the resources industry.

      Important Information

      • 3 February 2025 start date
      • Positions are not available for current apprentices who have already started an apprenticeship in the same field
      • Paid fly-in fly-out is not available for these positions

      Requirements

      • Have completed a minimum of year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics (not required for mature age applicants (over 21))
      • Hold a current Australian driver's licence (provisional accepted, manual preferred)
      • You will need to be self-motivated and have a mature attitude to complete the required studies

      What you receive upon completion

      • A nationally recognised trade qualification
      • Standard 11 (QLD only)
      • First Aid Certificate
      • Working at Heights Certificate
      • 4WD Defensive Driver Training Course
      • College fees and associated costs paid for by Thiess

      • Heavy Equipment Diesel Fitter
      • Fabricator/Boilermaker
      • Automotive Electrician
      • High Voltage Electrician
      • Light Vehicle Mechanic

      We are offering apprenticeships across our QLD and NSW projects however, this is indication only and positions and locations are subject to change.

      QLD Sites:

      • Caval Ridge
      • Olive Downs
      • QCoal N Hub
      • Peak Downs
      • Lake Vermont - Workshop
      • Lake Vermont - Coal Handling & Preparation Plant
      • Curragh North

      NSW Sites:

      • Mt Arthur Coal
      • Mt Pleasant
      • Mt Thorley
