      The Agile Hardware Solutions (AHS) department is responsible for improving the cost competitiveness of the work products developed by Mechanical Engineering, through workforce efficiency, process standardization and tool optimization.

      AHS is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Accelerated Learning & Rapid Prototyping section as a member of the collaborative team. The Accelerated Learning & Rapid Prototyping section is a service organization chartered to enable accelerated learning and rapid prototyping in all phases of hardware development using capabilities and enablers including polymer additive manufacturing, 3D Laser Scanning and small Unmanned Aerial Systems. This position is for an ON-SITE role in Tewksbury, MA. As a primary responsibility, you will interface and collaborate with engineers from all disciplines to contribute to the design, development and generation of rapid prototypes. You will be executing as part of small team during product development, drawing generation, drawing release and change incorporation to meet a set of requirements. You will be engaging in 3D laser scanning activities in support of hardware measurement and inspection, hardware reverse engineering and 3D documentation applications.

      What You Will Do

      • Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and Product Data Management (PDM) system
      • Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
      • Training and application of polymer Additive Manufacturing
      • Training and application of 3D Laser Scanning
      • Training and application of small Unmanned Aerial Systems
      • Collaboration with coworkers and diverse teams.
      • Training on Raytheon processes and procedures

      Qualifications You Must Have

      • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2025
      • Must be pursuing as Bachelors or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
      • Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
      • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written)
      • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

      Qualifications We Prefer

      • 3.5 or above cumulative GPA desired
      • Prior engineering project or internship experience
      • Prior experience in additive manufacturing
      • Prior experience in 3D Scanning and hardware inspection
      • Prior experience in Unmanned Aerial Systems
      • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with coworkers on cross-function teams from diverse communities and cultures

      The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
