- Summer positions will be advertised
- Summer work positions will be filled in accordance with the established summer work process.
- Temporary positions will be advertised
- Principal/designee, supervisor, manager or director will provide a list of summer work positions with work hours to talent by the week after spring break
- Qualifications for summer employment:
- Only PXU classified employees may apply for summer positions.
- Applicants must be qualified for the positions for which they are applying.
- Individuals currently holding the position for which they are applying will be selected first.
- In the event that no individuals holding the position are available, selections will be made from the pool of candidates who are qualified but not currently holding the position.
- All summer applicants must be in good standing. Summer applicants will not be considered in good standing if the following have occurred:
- No pay status for current school year
- Ineffective evaluation score for current school year
- Inappropriate behavior as defined by talent and the professional agreement
- No pay status for current school year

- Classified employees hired in positions they currently hold, will receive their same hourly rate.
- Classified employees hired in positions they currently do not hold will be placed on the salary schedule based on the summer position, Step A.
