    • Greets and directs visitors and customers in-person, online, and via phone using excellent customer service skills; maintains a visitor log; responds to inquiries regarding benefits, job qualification requirements, job openings, and closing dates.
    • Answers incoming calls and transfers as appropriate; provides information to the public and relays messages.
    • Receives employment applications and reviews for completeness. Prepares new employee packets; processes new employees and volunteers. Submits background check for new hires, temporary employees, coaches, and volunteers.
    • Prepares fingerprint cards and fingerprints employees and volunteers; maintains employee files. Maintains a log of all persons fingerprinted. Prepares reports listing amounts charged to applicants and volunteers.
    • Maintains bus card information to include names, card numbers, and deactivation information.
    • Performs personnel and clerical duties.
    • Processes and distributes all incoming and outgoing mail; processes all mail that needs to be postage metered.
    • Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.
    • Skill in planning, prioritizing, and completing assignments with minimum supervision.
    • Skill in writing professional reports and correspondence from brief instructions.
    • Skill in understanding, explaining, and applying relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Skill in researching and compiling data for reports, presentations, and technical documents.
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
    • Ability to type and enter data with speed and accuracy.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records.

      SUMMARY:

      The Personnel Service Assistant greets and directs visitors, providing excellent customer service. Provides information and assistance to District personnel, staff, and the public regarding a variety of personnel matters. Performs personnel and clerical duties.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:

      High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND two years of clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
