Job Description

- Develop and launch new credit programming and alternative credentials at the college by providing expertise and guidance in new program development to faculty, staff, and subject matter experts engaged in program development.
- Develop and maintain program development templates and tools to guide programs through the internal and external approval process.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and consultation in program development and program review by communicating the processes and statuses of programs to departments, divisions, and executive, by seeking feedback and partnership with faculty, staff, and subject matter experts, and by carrying out needs assessments and consultations with community, business and industry, and government stakeholders.
- Work with key internal stakeholders to develop an implementation process to support the launch and operationalization of new programs.
- Research and coordinate grant funding applications to help develop future programs at the College.
- Administer NorQuest’s program records on the Government of Alberta’s PAPRS through the creation, update, and termination of program records following internal approval processes, submission of applicable external templates, and external approval processes.
- Support the program life-cycle at NorQuest by assisting program proposals, learner calculations, budgets, and program suspension and termination proposals.
- Maintain currency and relevancy by understanding and leveraging best practices for development, innovation, and continuous improvements in credit programming and alternative credentials to ensure our methods result in quality programming.
- An undergraduate degree in a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
- Proven experience and success managing multi-disciplinary initiatives preferably in an academic setting.
- Experience and training in project management.
- Experience in developing academic programs would be an asset.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to exercise a high level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other team members from other areas of expertise within the organization.
- Ability to multi-task at a high level of performance.
- Excellent communication, writing, research, and relationship building skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform in front of groups i.e., group facilitation.

ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

The Program Development department leads the development of new programs and maintains quality assurance of our programs in collaboration with faculty and staff across the college to support NorQuest 2030, We Are Who We Include. We are looking for someone to join our team, grow their skills, find ways forward, and be part of providing exceptional programing to our learners!
Reporting to the Manager, Program Development, the Academic Development Specialist is responsible for assisting the program development process, program review process, grant call projects, as well as supporting the Program Plan 2030 and Program Review Revitalization initiatives. This position will require excellent organizational skills, decision-making capabilities, writing skills, and relationship building skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

SALARY: $61,635-$80,033 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a fulltime term position until December 30, 2024 with immediate access to our great benefit program.
