What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, imaging, and diagnostic tests
- Coordinate pre-operative and post-operative visits for neurosurgery or other procedures
- Work with providers to manage complex care plans across specialties
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, and obtain prior authorizations
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and clinical teams
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience
- Ability to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I and II level
- Basic proficiency with computers and data entry (MS Office preferred)
- Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Exceptional communication skills to interact with patients and insurance companies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certified Health-care Access Associate (CHAA) Certification
- Experience with external radiology testing
- Knowledge of CPT codes and/or medical terminology
- Three (3) years of experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
