      Job Objective :

      Under the direction of the Controller or designee, this position will work under general supervision in preparation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Responsibilities may include reconciling accounts, assisting with analyzing trends, costs, revenues, accounts payable, bookkeeping, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      1. General Ledger:

        1. Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly.

        2. Reconciles patient accounting system daily.

        3. Keeps bank reconciliations current and ensure that reconciling differences are properly investigated and resolved.

        4. Reconciliation and analysis of miscellaneous AIR.

      2. Financial Statements:

        1. Participates in the month-end close process to ensure monthly financial statements and supporting documents are prepared in a timely manner.

        2. Researches accounts and prepares accrual entries to ensure that the amount of the accrual is sufficient given available information.

        3. Investigates material budget variance for possible adjustments and/or explanation.

        4. Ensures that Journal Entries are prepared and keyed-in monthly.

      3. Annual Audit:

        1. In support of the year-end financial statement audit, assists in preparation of audit work paper schedules.

        2. Assists field auditors with inquiries and gathering supporting documentation.

      4. Other Duties:

        1. Prepares daily reports.

        2. Helps gather information for OSHPD, benchmarking, cost accounting, and other accounting programs.

        3. Professionally communicates with outside vendors, department directors and others.

      5. Accounts Payable:

        1. Assemble, review and verify invoices and check requests.

        2. Enter and upload invoices into the system.

        3. Prepare and perform check runs.

        4. Maintain vendor files including W-9’s.

      6. Communicate with outside vendors to respond to inquiries or to research and resolve any invoice discrepancies.

      Non-Essential Duties:

      • May review Accounts Payable check disbursements for correct vendor information, coding errors, discounts taken and sales tax.
      • Assists Accounting department staff with duties as assigned.

      • Assists with administrative tasks such as filling out forms, filing and answering phone calls and emails.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      Knowledge

      • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and QuickBooks

      • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

      • Knowledge in the reconciliation of complex bank accounts and balance sheet accounts

      Skills

      • Skillful in time management

      • Good oral and written communication skills

      Abilities

      • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including: Computer and multifunction copier/facsimile/scanner

      • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction

      • Ability to process large quantities of documents and to work effectively within deadlines in a fast paced environment

      Education and Experience:

      Education

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or its equivalent.

      Experience

      • 1-4 years accounting experience.

      Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

      • Work is usually performed in a normal office environment.

      • Sitting tolerance of 6-8 hours per shift

      • Able to lift up to 25 pounds
