      This role is responsible for general accounting and the end-to-end accounts payable process for Austral Group, ensuring compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and US GAAP standards. The position also supports financial analysis, account reconciliations, and the preparation of information required for accounting processes. The role is based in Santiago, Chile, follows a hybrid work model, and reports to the Senior Accountant. This is a fixed term period position until May 2026.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Accounts Payable (AP)

      • Receive, review, and record vendor invoices in the accounting system.
      • Review and post employee expense reports.
      • Prepare related reconciliations, including vendor advances, accounts payable, bank accounts, and other associated accounts.
      • Reconcile Accounts Payable subledgers between internal accounting records and statutory accounting records, ensuring both ledgers reflect the same transactions for local tax and regulatory compliance purposes.
      • Review monthly tax filings (purchase/sales ledgers and professional fees) and support the review of the F29 tax return proposal.

      General Accounting & US GAAP

      • Analyze key accounting accounts such as prepaid expenses, intercompany accounts, Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E), deferred revenue, among others.
      • Prepare sales invoices through the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (SII) portal.
      • Review and analyze the results of services provided to clients, ensuring related costs are properly recorded and comparing actual costs against budgeted amounts to identify variances and ensure the correct profitability of each service.
      • Participate in additional accounting and administrative tasks to ensure an efficient and timely month-end close.


      Ideal Candidate Profile

      • Certified Public Accountant / Auditor with 5–7 years of experience in general accounting and accounts payable.
      • Knowledge and practical application of US GAAP and local accounting regulations.
      • Basic to intermediate level of English (intermediate to advanced level is a plus).
      • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
      • Experience in reconciliations, account analysis, and multi-currency environments.
      • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
      • Knowledge or experience with QuickBooks Online (or Xero) is a plus.
      • Strong willingness to learn and contribute to teamwork.
