      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Lead the preparation and coordination of annual financial statements, including necessary reconciliations
      - Mentor and train accounting personnel while resolving technical problems in accounting processes
      - Maintain automated and manual ledgers, and prepare financial information for budgeting
      - Develop and implement county-wide accounting policies and ensure compliance with internal controls
      - Analyze data for user departments and provide recommendations on financial management

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
      - Minimum of four (4) years of professional accounting experience
      - Knowledge of accounting and finance practices in a municipal environment
      - Awareness of current accounting standards and regulations
      - Ability to independently address complex accounting issues

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Previous professional accounting experience with a governmental agency
      - CPA, CMA, CIA, CSA, or SPFO certification
      - Experience with automated accounting systems
      - Familiarity with Washington State Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting System (BARS)
      - Strong desktop computer skills, particularly in spreadsheets and databases
