What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage and process all accounts payable, including verifying, coding, and entering vendor invoices
- Process weekly check runs and ACH payments while ensuring discounts are captured and duplicate payments are avoided
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare month-end journal entries
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, supporting quarter- and year-end closings
- Assist with expense reports and corporate card programs, ensuring compliance with policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
- 2-4 years of hands-on accounts payable and general ledger experience, preferably in an insurance or brokerage environment
- Proficiency with Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables
- Track record of error-free data entry and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to explain financial data to non-financial colleagues
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with GAAP financial statement preparation
- Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting principles
- Familiarity with insurance brokerage accounting, including premium payables/receivables
- Exposure to process-automation tools
- Advanced Excel or Power BI skills for data visualization
