What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify or obtain patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services
- Conduct research and appropriately status unpaid or denied claims
- Monitor claims for missing information, authorization, and control numbers
- Contact payers to secure payment of claims via phone or written correspondence
- Write appeal letters for technical appeals and prepare claims for clinical audit processing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
- Epic experience required
- Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and medical business office procedures
- Demonstrated ability to navigate Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with both hospital (facility) and physician (pro-fee) accounts receivable
