What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Follow up with commercial, governmental, and other payers to resolve claim payment issues
- Analyze denied and non-paid claims to determine discrepancies and reasons for payment delays
- Communicate directly with payers to file appeals and ensure timely reimbursement
- Document all activities accurately in the client’s host system and/or appropriate tracking system
- Identify trends and root causes of issues in accounts receivable and communicate findings to management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to meet quality and productivity standards within set timelines
- Must adhere to required attendance policies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2 or 4-year college degree
- 1 or more years of relevant experience in medical collections, AR follow-up, or professional billing
- Knowledge of claims review and analysis
- Familiarity with revenue cycle operations and medical terminology
- Experience using the DDE Medicare system and payer websites for claim investigations
