What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Follow up directly with commercial, governmental, and other payers to resolve claim payment issues
- Examine denied and non-paid claims to determine reasons for discrepancies
- Communicate with payers to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement
- Document all activities accurately in the client’s host system and/or appropriate tracking system
- Demonstrate initiative by making recommendations and communicating trends to management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to meet quality and productivity standards within established timelines
- Must adhere to attendance policies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2 or 4-year college degree
- 1 or more years of relevant experience in medical collections, AR follow-up, or professional billing
- Knowledge of claims review and revenue cycle operations
- Experience with the DDE Medicare system and payer websites
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance claim terminology
