      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Research root issues of denied claims and pursue proper appeals or follow-ups to obtain payment
      - Review account history for continuous follow-up on unpaid accounts
      - Address incoming correspondence and prepare communications to insurance companies and patients
      - Contact insurance companies, patients, or guarantors to obtain status on outstanding claims
      - Document claim issues for review and escalate problems to Supervisor as necessary

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school graduate or GED certificate is required
      - Minimum of 6 months' experience in a physician billing or third-party payor environment
      - Strong customer service and patient-focused orientation
      - Ability to understand and communicate insurance benefits, exclusions, and denials
      - Experience with electronic billing systems, such as Epic, is preferred

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnosis, and procedure coding
      - Previous experience in an academic healthcare setting
