What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately follow up on unpaid and underpaid claims, working with payers to determine reasons for denials
- Research claim denials and initiate appeals as necessary
- Identify root causes and denial trends, making recommendations to department leadership
- Document all actions taken on claims according to department policy
- Meet established productivity and quality metrics for the Accounts Receivable Department
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate/GED required; Technical School/2 Years College/Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle
- Knowledge of healthcare billing, including CPT/ICD-10 coding and denial reason codes
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy skills
