      Position: Adjunct Assistant Professor

      Department: Physician Assistant

      Status: Part Time

      Position Summary:

      The adjunct program faculty member will be responsible for the management of the Anatomy & Physiology curriculum for physician assistant didactic year students. Teaching and administrative experience in healthcare education are desirable. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and demonstrate a professional demeanor and appearance. The individual will work closely with other faculty members to ensure students complete the required educational objectives.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Coordinate and teach clinically oriented Human Anatomy & Physiology
      • Develop objectives and exam questions for course(s)
      • Assist in the development and updating of didactic course syllabi and required reading assignments for Anatomy and Physiology
      • Participate in student evaluations
      • Develop and analyze exam items using available software
      • Present lectures to our students and affiliated organizations as required
      • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
      • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; FERPA and other state and federal mandates
      • Other job related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

      Education/Experience:

      • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or have a Master’s or Doctorate in Biological/Biomedical Sciences with emphasis in human anatomy, physiology, and cell biology
      • 3- 5 years clinical/teaching experience
      • Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector desired

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels

      • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

      • Excellent leadership and/or supervisory skills

      • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology

      • Familiarity with/Knowledgeable in Anatomage desirable

      • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms

      • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, and students

      • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.

      • Exercise independent and sound judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.

      • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet established deadlines

      • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
