What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise Presiding Administrative Law Judges (PALJs) and Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), including hiring, training, and evaluating staff
- Oversee and manage the appeal and hearing processes to ensure compliance with legal standards
- Monitor and prepare reports regarding the management and operations of the Office of Appeals
- Conduct legal research and interact with legislative and legal personnel as needed
- Conduct hearings and issue legally correct decisions based on thorough legal analysis
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited university
- Membership in good standing in the Arizona State Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the practice of law, demonstrating strong analytical and research skills
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, as well as due process and administrative procedures
- Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate subordinate staff

- Experience as a Judge, Administrative Law Judge, Hearing Officer, Arbitrator, or mediator
