      The Opportunity

      Love office management and supporting college students? The Engaged Learning and Career Action Center (ELCA) at Washington State University Vancouver is seeking an organized and dedicated individual to serve as their Administrative Assistant.

      As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative and logistical support related to coordinating the daily operations of ELCA. This position is responsible for coordinating events logistics, tracking budget expenditures, and working with other staff members supporting ELCA events.


      The Administrative Assistant will also perform the administrative support in Workday related to hiring processes, financial monitoring and associated processes, in addition to providing administrative support for the Reinstatement Program. You will be required to exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying the University’s academic and fiscal rules and regulations.

      Percentage Breakdown of Job Functions:

      30% Reception/Office Management

      25% Event Planning and Program Coordination

      25% Student Retention Support

      15% Reinstatement Program

      5% Other duties as assigned.

      This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

      This position works on-site on the WSU Vancouver campus. This position is not currently eligible for remote/hybrid work assignments.

      Monthly Salary: $3,477 to $3,999 | Range 40, Steps A to G | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .

      In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

      Required Qualifications

      High School graduation or equivalent three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.

      Demonstrated computer software skills, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.

      Ability to effectively coordinate and organize work, including prioritizing and managing projects with changing demands and working independently.

      Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with people with a wide range of perspectives.

      Ability to interact effectively with internal and external community members and customers to provide exceptional customer service.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience working with students and/or working in an educational setting.
      • Experience planning and executing events that drive engagement.
      • Experience gathering data and generating reports using spreadsheets software and dashboards.
