      WHAT YOU WILL DO
      This Administrative Assistant II provides support for the Special Program Appeals Department, which adjudicates administrative appeals in disputed Texas Payday Law cases, Tax cases, workforce program cases, and related state and federal programs. Performs routine (journey-level) administrative support work. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

      YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
      -Greet visitors, answers telephone and provides quality and courteous customer service and assistance to internal and external customers.
      -Disseminate program and agency information, policies and procedures, responding timely to routine and non-routine inquiries generally related to the Special Program Appeals programs.
      -Prepare, proof, edit, and maintain the Special Program Appeals Department files and forms.
      -Handle incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner.
      -Assist with preparation and timely submission of Performance Appraisals.
      -Key and maintain work orders of various types (HR, facility, IT, technical, telephone support).
      -Assist front office staff with supply, ordering and accounts payable and receiving.
      -Prepare, generate and distribute reports and correspondences for the department in a timely manner, into various databases.
      -Set up meetings in TEAMS for staff.
      -Perform other duties as assigned, which may include cross training to assist other units as need arises.

      YOU QUALIFY WITH:
      -One year of full-time experience that provided knowledge of administrative support functions and office practices and procedures, or clerical administration and business management practices, such as preparation, maintenance and control of forms, records and reports
      -Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.

      YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
      -Great organizational skills, strong computer skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
      -Advanced demonstrated computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS.
      -Experience with devices for scanning documents.
      -Exceptional oral, written and telephone communication skills.
      -Demonstrated experience maintaining departmental files.
      -Demonstrated supply and submitting work orders experience.
      -Demonstrated Accounts Payable/Receiving experience.
      -Demonstrated Human Resources experience.
      -Bilingual in English/Spanish.
