- Provides support as needed to the Cardiology section chief that ensures professional, responsive and effective experience with our department.
- Responsible & accountable for the overall day to day operations of the department
- Uses Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint to produce materials & presentations for meetings for the Nurse Manger
- Processes all incoming correspondence prioritizing and determining disposition. Directs mail to appropriate internal staff with instructions and/or suggestions for preparation and reply.
- Researches, reviews and prepares information for reports, projects and PI
- Maintains files
- Responds to and addresses confidential and sensitive information with poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Works beyond the normal work day to accomplish duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, attendance at evening meetings and events.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Registers all out patients coming in for testing and coding utilizing ICD10.
- Maintains the worklist for EKG reading.
- Schedules out-patient appointment, obtaining all pertinent information.
- Scheduling of Transesophageal Echocardiogram for in-patient and out patients. This encompasses coordinating departments.
- Performs all other clerical duties.
- Creates and maintains monthly Cardiology Statistics.
- Maintains up to date contact information of Cardiologist and staff.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- High school Graduate Required
- Minimum 1-2 years professional experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) required.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.

- Retains composure under stress
- May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
- Ability to use computer for extensive periods of time
- Occasional lift and or move of 15 to 20 pounds
- Requires frequent movement about the department and to other departments throughout the hospital
- Must be able to travel between Hospital Main Campus and Offsite Office’s
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to respond to frequent calls
- Extended working hours may be necessary
The Administrative Assistant to the Cardiology Department is directly responsible for providing clerical services and support essential to Cardiology. They are responsible for providing general office management including day-to-day operations.

*Salary Range (Ranges based on Full Time Hours): $53,840.67-$80,782.07
