!*!WHO WE ARE:
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is hiring an Administrative Assistant II to join the Benefit Payment Control department of the Division of Fraud Deterrence and Compliance Monitoring. This is a hybrid position based at 101 E. 15th St, Austin, Texas. This position is eligible to work from home 2 days a week.You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.
WHO YOU ARE:
The ideal candidate must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours. This position has work that can only be done in-office. The candidates will need to be able to work in the office three days a week, with the ability to work from home two days a week. Candidates should ensure that the State of Texas application is completely filled out, including dates of employment, experience, etc.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Administrative Assistant II performs routine (journey-level) administrative support or technical program assistance work. Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing systems, and performing internal administrative support work. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
- Perform journey administrative support or technical program assistance work in the Benefit Payment Control Investigations Department (BPC).
- Prepare, disseminate and may interpret information concerning the process of reporting Earnings Verification Form data, and BPC Investigations.
- Respond to inquiries from employers and claimants by telephone and/or in in writing to explain and interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures regarding program matters.
- Retrieve daily fraud Hotline complaint calls and e-mails and data enter complaint information in a database.
- Maintain case management system and determine processes for each type of case.
- Perform general office duties such as ordering and maintain and inventory records, review, research, and correct Earnings Verification Forms.
- Maintain filing and records system.
- Open, review, and distribute incoming mail and fax communications.
- Maintain department equipment inventory.
- Make purchase requests.
- Schedule management team meetings.
- Handle new employee preparation within the department.
- Prepare records, correspondence, and reports to management.
- May contact complainants to clarify complaints and verify receiving complaint.
- May perform other work as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of GED certification, plus one year of full-time experience that provided knowledge of administrative support functions and office practices and procedures, or clerical administration and business management practices, such as preparation, maintenance and control of forms, records and reports.
-Fifteen semester hours of accredited college work may be substituted for six months of experience.
