      St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking two (2) Administrative Coordinators for our Health and Human Services Department. One (1) coordinating Social Services working directly for department director and one (1) coordinating Housing and Community Development, both working at the headquarters in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.

      The Health and Human Services Department oversees three divisions: Housing and Community Services, Social Services, and the Family Integrity Program. Employees work in a team environment across the various programs, consistently focusing on human services needs within our community.

      The ideal Administrative Coordinator candidate must possess St. Johns County’s core values of compassion, innovation, and trustworthiness and must work well in a collaborative team environment. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s day-to-day Health and Human Services operations. Candidate must have the ability to tolerate interruptions and multi-task. Some of the specific tasks include but are not limited to:

      • Serving as the Administrative Assistant for the HHS Director.
      • Sorting mail, both internal and external, for the department.
      • Department timekeeper
      • Answering telephone and greeting visitors; providing information and assistance; taking messages; managing schedules for the Director and Assistant Director.
      • Researching, gathering data, and preparing documents as requested.
      • Maintaining required files, reports, and statistical data as assigned.
      • Preparing agendas and meeting minutes from HHSAC meetings.
      • Managing the department’s scanned folder.
      • Working with vendor Data savers for appropriate record storage.
      • Ordering departmental supplies.
      • Performing other duties as assigned.

      Candidates for the Administrative Coordinator are encouraged to apply if they meet the following minimum qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent recognized certification.
      • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years’ experience or service.
      • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
      • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills to serve others.
      • Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
      • Must be able to operate a computer.
