      The role:

      The Tasmanian Clinical Genetics Service (TCGS) is a statewide service providing assessment, diagnosis, genetic testing, management advice, counselling and support for individuals and families who have, or are at risk of having, a genetic condition.

      The occupant:

      • Completes a broad variety of administrative, and research support services to ensure the smooth running of the TCGS office and clinic coordination within required timeframes.
      • Critically examines, evaluates, and takes appropriate action on information submitted to ensure relevance, completeness, and accuracy.
      • Maintains, and ensures the integrity of databases, information systems and spreadsheets as required for administrative, reports and quality improvement activities.

      The Tasmanian Clinical Genetics Service team:

      • Consists of clinical, administrative and research staff who work together to deliver care to the Tasmanian people
      • Provides a supportive and inclusive environment
      • Provides services across Tasmania from offices located in Hobart

      Details of Appointment

      Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

      *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

      • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

      Salary: $71,661 - $77,455 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

      You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

      • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

      Eligibility:

      Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

      1. Experience working in a clinical genetics service or Masters of Genetic Counselling student

      The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

      1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
      1. crimes of violence
      2. sex related offences
      3. serious drug offences
      4. crimes involving dishonesty
      1. Identification check
      2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
