      Description

      Calling all Aerial Silks, Gymnastics and/or Parkour Coaches who have commitment and experience working with children!!

      Join the vibrant athletics department at the New Canaan YMCA where we are looking forward to bringing our community introductory Aerial Silks, Gymnastics and Parkour programming from ages 3 - 6+ (depending on the area of specialization) starting in Fall 2025.

      Hourly rates will be based on experience and area of expertise.

      Be a part of the growth, excitement and development of introductory Aerial Silks, Gymnastics and Parkour programming!

      Candidates key responsibilities will include:

      • Ability to create and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans to small groups (approx 4 children for Silks, and up to 12 children for Gymnastics and/or Parkour)
      • Ability to safely re-arrange equipment as needed and report any equipment issues to the Director
      • Take attendance for classes and supervise attendees during class time
      • Ensure the gym and equipment are clearn, organized and secure before leaving
      • Communicate students' progress with parents and host a once per-semester showcase
      • Monitor for safety and promptly report any injuries and incidents to the Director

      Qualifications and Skills


      • Experience teaching at least one specialty area of Aerial Silks, Gymnastics and/or Parkour required
      • Experience working with children
      • Specialization certifications such as USA Gymnastics Certification is highly preferred
      • Ability to supervise and teach youth classes in a recreational setting
      • CPR certification required within 6 months of employment
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
      • Ability to identify and respond to safety concerns in a gymnastics studeio environment
      • Comfortable communicating and teaching safety rules and the fundamentals of the specialization area with children, as well as progressing childrens appropriately through more advanced skills.
      • Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants and families
