The Affordable Housing Compliance Assistant is responsible for ensuring compliance for Low Income Housing Tax Credit units are up to date.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implements changes as indicated.
Maintains tenant files of all applicable NYC and LI properties in compliance with LIHTC/HUD regulations.
Assist in the process of annual certifications and unit transfers as well as applicant files during lotteries.
Meets with tenants who may be having challenges with completing the recertification process throughout the agency.
Reviews files, prepares them for audits, and meets with tenants, if needed, to obtain any needed documentation.
Assist with LIHTC/HUD reviews by outside entities.
Performs internal audits of tenant files.
Assist with initial lease-up of new properties.
Provides assistance to the Affordable Housing Compliance team in covering properties throughout the agency, as needed.
Possesses knowledge of the Federal Fair Housing Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Annual training in these areas is required.
Attends trainings as required (including Relias Learning). Successful completion of LIHTC and HUD training including a passing score on the exam.
Attendance at weekly supervision meetings and departmental meetings, as scheduled.
Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.
Additional tasks as required.
Salary: $60,000/yr.
