      Job Description

      Primary Purpose:

      Investigates, evaluates and settles casualty matters brought against Norfolk Southern for incidents involving property damage, personal injury, or death arising from company operations.

      Principal Duties:

      • Investigates and preserves relevant facts concerning claims against or by Norfolk Southern for death or injury to persons, or damage to property, arising out of company activities within assigned territory.
      • Evaluates, controls, and negotiates fair and reasonable settlements of claims and lawsuits as may be assigned to incumbent.
      • Assists trial counsel in defending the Company's interests in the event of litigation.
