      Who you will be joining

      The Fuel and Inerting Systems Domain is part of the Engineering Systems Centre of Competence. We are a dynamic team that are recognised worldwide as a technical leader in commercial Fuel Systems; with not only key involvement in all major Airbus commercial aircraft programmes but also the development of our new revolutionary fleet including the A321XLR and A350ULR.

      We are also making game-changing headway with our ZEROe hydrogen fuelled aircraft plans, whilst paving the way to certify 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel with the aim of reducing the environmental footprint of our aircraft. You will have opportunities to be at the forefront of these developments.

      What you will be doing

      You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Fuel & Inerting Systems Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following:

      ● The Fuel & Inerting team are responsible for the design of the complete fuel system across every commercial Airbus aircraft, at all stages of the development lifecycle. From R&T projects (such as ZeroE & the next generation of Airbus aircraft), to Flight Test Campaigns (for example A321XLR and Sustainable Aviation Fuel), you can expect plenty of opportunities across our entire range of products.

      ● You will have the opportunity to complete multiple placements around the business, both within and outside the Fuel Systems Domain, working as part of experienced teams to gain a breadth of knowledge and experience across all aspects of aircraft design and development.

      ● Our Graduate Engineers operate in a very challenging environment, and over time will have the opportunity to develop their skills and grow both as Engineers and Team Leaders, ultimately helping you to realise your potential.

      ● We are entering an exciting time in our industry with a focus very much on environmentally sustainable aviation. Therefore the work you complete with us is not just limited to traditional kerosene-based fuel systems but also to new and novel technologies. The design of current and future fuel systems for the next generation of Airbus aircraft and the impact that novel fuels such as Hydrogen and Sustainable Aviation Fuel will have on these systems is of high importance and interest to enable Airbus to lead aviation into the future.

      What we look for

      To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate;

      ● Education to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study.

      ● Maximum of three years relevant work experience.

      ● Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English).

      ● A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation.

      ● The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

      What you will need to apply

      Degree type:

      We are looking for Graduates who have a relevant technical degree. This can include (but is not limited to) the following areas of expertise:

      ● Aerospace and/or Aeronautical Engineering;

      ● Chemistry and/or Chemical Engineering;

      ● Computer Engineering and/or Science;

      ● Computer Modelling;

      ● Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering;

      ● Mechanical Engineering;

      ● Mechatronic Engineering:

      ● Software Engineering

      ● Systems Engineering

      ● Desirable completed modules include Fluid Mechanics, Programming (Python, MatLab, C++), Thermodynamics, Hydrogen-based learning, Modelling and Simulation, Systems Design and Integration, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Digital Circuits and Systems.

      Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

      ● A natural excitement to work in the aviation industry, to explore engineering principles and create solutions based on technical intuition & evidence.

      ● A curiosity to learn new skills and look at things in different ways and develop within the programme.

      ● An ability to act with integrity and to speak up when necessary.

      ● A team-player attitude with the ability to work with others in an open, collaborative style.

      ● Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.

      ● Understanding and appreciation of the future of aviation - specifically the impact that new fuels and technologies can have on Fuel and Inerting System design.

      Salary: £31,000
